There's a hand on his back, his heart is going a million miles an hour, brain full of everything and nothing simultaneously. He can't see at all, but only because there's so much flooding his eyes that his mind isn't able to make sense of it all at once. This massive sensory overload is almost enough to knock his right back into unconsciousness. Except for the hand on his back... it's grounding him, like a lightning rod collecting and directing all the different charges being sent around it. Slowly by slowly, things begin to fall into place, his mind is able to gather and take in what's being poured into his eyes and ears. Waking back up.

It's okay. It's okay. That voice drifts into his ears, coming with it the faint coo he's so quick to remember. Yet when he looks to the side of him, it's... it's definitely Keigo, but he looks different. He looks older. Changed. Wings bigger, he might be taller, his hair's a different style than he remembers. But those details come rapid fire and vanish a second later as he tries to figure out what's going on. Yes, he remembers him, but the recognition is coming a bit slower thanks to the differences. For a moment, he thinks he's dreaming, unable to tell if this is real or not. It's hard to... feel things now that he thinks about it.

Even the hand around his own is somewhat numb. Like he's fading towards the pins-and-needles sensation, but never getting there. His hand curls around Keigo's, less out of instinct and more because he consciously tells it to do so. No it's... it's numb. He can't feel him as much. The pressure of his fingertips against the other boy's knuckles registers, but the warmth of his hand and the softness of his skin are in some midway state between able to feel and only remembering what it should feel like. Temperature and texture are difficult, though pressure is easier. It's confusing and he doesn't know why. The bandages all over his arms, the strange white shirt he's wearing, there's something attached to his wrist, what... what's going on?

"What happened? Where... where am I? Keigo?" As if the other boy has the answers. Only to tense up and his free hand flies up to his face, his mouth. That's-! That's not his voice! That doesn't sound like him! Not the him he remembers! "My voice-?!"

Is that his voice?!
