dabi frowns at him for the response before drifting off into some silence. he'd been scared, but excited and determined when he arrived here. however, after the training and testing he received today, his attitude's been tempered with frustration at the pain and the disappointment the testers showed at his progress. while his quirk continues to improve, his physical prowess remains less than satisfactory.

"i know," he grumbles, rubbing at his upper arm. "they keep making me lift weights and do obstacle courses... i'm not good at them." the last part is almost a pout, mentally berating himself for not being able to do what his father wants. it makes him feel like a failure.

he follows hawks' glance towards the bed and floor and he wrinkles his noise at the idea even without being prompted to do that again. "if you're cold, wouldn't hot be good?" dabi points a small hand at hawks' wings, indicating the red appendages shivering in the air behind him. "we don't have to be smushed together." even pressing his hands together to indicate "smushed" to the other boy. because obviously he needs the visual.
