I don't know everything. You're more than your past, Dabi.

[ even when his upbringing had a huge influence in shaping him into the man he is today, itadori would like to believe there is more to dabi than pure revenge. he's not a tool, he's a human. there must be days where he just wanted to be himself, unwind, maybe entertain a secret hobby or think about an old friend. maybe think about how his life could've been if his father wasn't blinded with his unrealistic demands. you don't lose your humanity so easy.

it brings itadori back to their phone conversation. 'no one is born evil' — was it? he dwells on it as his eyes follow the way dabi attempted to mimic his craft, only to give up way too soon. in that specific scene, reading into the villain's stoic features, he can't see evil right now. all he can see is someone who got hurt, abandoned, mistreated and someone who loved his father so deeply. itadori has an intimate affair with 'evil'. if he puts dabi and sukuna side by side, they don't look alike. the contrast is: dabi can have a change of heart, while sukuna is incapable of it. why? one is human and one is not.

he takes in a subtle breath, nodding his head and sobering up; back to reality. ]

Okay! I can do that. I'll probably be gone for a bit, but I'll be back next week. Tell me what you wish for me to prepare. Oh, and I'll make sure to bring some drinks next time!

[ he breaks their eye contact, idly examining the kitchen- ... or what he could see from where they're sitting, which isn't much. he ends up unconsciously ruining dabi's personal space by leaning to his side. okay, that stove didn't look like it can function at all. ]

I don't think I could use this kitchen. I kinda wanted to. It would be nice to be able to serve it on the spot, fresh and warm ...

[ in case he wished to have something other than cold soba. speaking of which, he noticed there isn't much left of the food, just enough for itadori to pull his little trick again— but this time, he holds it up for dabi to enjoy. the gesture is clear; he fully expects him to open his mouth and accept it. it's happening. ]

Trust me. You'll love it.
